Listed Building Consent submitted and approved for new internal and external works to allow for the improvement to the bathroom and internal staircase.
En-Plan were approached by the owners of this Grade II Listed Barn Conversion to help improve lighting to te existing bathroom and help gain Listed Building Consent for a new modern set of stairs to add a feature to a rather lifeless entrance hall. To add a new Conservation roof light would necessitate a house holder planing application (as the side facing window and its opening would not be above 1.7 metres high from the floor of the room of which it is in which it is in) and Listed Building Consent to cover both the new rooflight and the new internal staircase.
En-Plan drafted a scheme that was subsequently submitted to Shropshire County Council for the insertion of a new conservation roof light in the bathroom, and the replacement of the internal staircase with a very modern replacement that will enhance the owners enjoyment of the house and add wow factor in the entrance hall. The council have been happy to approve the Planning Application and Listed Building Consent Application with no amendments and the applicants are happy that they have the light airy bathroom and modern staircase they desired.
